backSENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGNER/ PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
This position will appeal to a 10 year+ experience electrical designer or P. Eng experienced with building systems design and implementation, from basic power, lighting, structured cable systems and life safety systems . A self starter, the requirements for this position include design team leadership, client liaison, mentoring junior staff, report and specifications writing, and participation in proposals.

- Liaison and coordinating with external and internal clients to obtain and develop engineering projects
- Preparing proposals and engineering estimates
- Developing schedules, work breakdown, project tasks and project execution
- Prepare project documents, equipment specifications and capital cost estimates
- Supervise project team of designers and junior engineers
- Project Management to control design budgets and cost control monitoring
- Prepare engineering reports, tender and construction drawings and documents
- Senior People are expected to work closely and share knowledge with team members and clients
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8-10 years of related electrical engineering experience
- Electrical design experience in low and medium voltage, systems lighting, power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, communications and security systems, structured cable systems for residential commercial, and institutional facilities
- Previous experience with AutoCAD and engineering software applications and other design tools will be a definite asset
- Thorough knowledge and familiarity with Canadian electrical code and standards
- Thorough knowledge and familiarity with BC Building code ad standards
- Good interpersonal skills required for internal team interfaces
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills required
- LEED certification is considered a definite asset
